ATPL(A) Integrated Training Program

The Integrated Airline Transport Pilot Course (ATPL) is the most common route for becoming a professional pilot. It is designed to train pilots with little or no experience up to a standard that enables then to carry out commercial air transport.

Throughout the course, the pilot will become proficient on single and multi-engine aircraft in instrument meteorological conditions and ready to fly multi-pilot operations.

On course completion, the pilot will hold an EASA Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with “frozen” ATPL theory credit (Frozen ATPL).

Admission Requirements

The following admission requirements refer to candidates applying for Nortávia’s Integrated ATPL (A) course.

Minimum age of 16 at the date of the course start, however the license can only be issued when the candidate reaches at least 18 years of age.

High School or equivalent. Knowledge of Mathematics and Physics.
Demonstrate proficiency in English (spoken and written) as required to obtain a minimum ICAO level 4.

Hold a Class 1 Medical Certificate.

National ID card or passport;
2 passport type colour photos;
Certificate of Academic Qualifications;
Class 1 Medical Certificate.

Theoretical Component

Classes are held in our facilities, at the Vilar de Luz Aerodrome, which has six fully-equipped classrooms. The theoretical component comprises the following subjects:

  • General knowledge of Aircraft

  • Flight Planning

  • Performance

  • Mass and Balance

  • Flight Instruments

  • Human Performance and Limitations

  • Meteorology

  • General Navigation

  • Radio Navigation

  • Operational Procedures

  • Principles of Flight

  • VFR Communications

  • IFR Communications

Certification

This training is intended for candidates who wish to become Airline Pilots, completing the ATPL(A) theory and with the SEP (single engine piston), IR (instrument rating), MEP (multi engine piston) and MCC (multi-crew cooperation) qualifications.

The ATPL(A) + Instructor + Internship course also includes the FI(A) Flight Instructor qualification and Internship.
