ATPL(A) Modular

The modular course lets you evolve up to an ATPL license step by step. This approach means you can progress through a series of individual courses according to your own schedule and necessities. This approach allows you to obtain credits form any previous aeronautical experience you may have.

Admission Requirements

The following admission requirements refer to candidates applying for Nortávia’s Modular ATPL (A) course.

Minimum age of 18 years.

High School or equivalent.
Demonstrate proficiency in English (spoken and written) as required to obtain a minimum ICAO level 4.

National ID card or passport;
2 passport type colour photos;
Certificate of Academic Qualifications;
Class 1 Medical Certificate;
Valid EASA PPL(A) License.

Course Plan

The course begins with ATPL(A) in E-Learning during which the candidate must learn the knowledge necessary to successfully pass the ATPL exams of the following 13 subjects:

  • Air Law

  • General knowledge of Aircraft

  • Flight Instruments

  • Mass and Balance

  • Performance

  • Flight Planning

  • Human Performance and Limitations

  • Meteorology

  • General Navigation & Radio Navigation

  • Operational Procedures

  • Principles of Flight

  • Communications

As soon as the candidate obtains the ATPL Level Certificate of Aeronautical Qualifications, he/she will be able to enter the many modules that, once exceeded, will lead to the ATPL(A) Frozen license:

  • Night Rating: 5 hours of flight time to qualify for single-engine night flight (SEP)

  • Instrument Rating: 50 flight hours for single-engine instrument (SEP) instrument flight rating

  • Multi-Engine Instrument Rating: 11 flight hours to achieve multi-engine instrument flight rating (MEP-IR)

  • Advanced UPRT: 6 hour theory course and 3 hours of flight training (Upset Prevention and Recovery Training)

  • Multi-Crew Cooperation: theoretical and practical course with 20 hours of simulator flight

  • Cost of Training

  • The cost of a modular course depends greatly on the candidate's prior experience, both the minimum requirements that each module has and the diversity of the pilot's prior experience. Contact us.
